Natural Thin Stone Veneer

Perhaps no building material is more fitting in the Rocky Mountain
region than natural stone. Natural thin stone veneer makes the lasting
beauty of stone affordable for both interior and exterior projects.
From fireplaces to accent walls, to full walls and columns, stone adds
durable value—naturally.
Thin stone veneer combines the advantages of easier installation and
lighter weights—no ledgers, footings or wall ties required. And unlike
manufactured concrete stone, there's no fading, and chips only reveal
more natural beauty—a win-win for contractors, masons, bricklayers
and customers.
Veneer also offers the dimensional beauty of full stone. Cut at 3/4
to 1 1/4-inch depth, it is often indistinguishable from full-stone.
Thin stone can be applied over any masonry surface. Builders can
use a block or wood frame backup. The material is less than 15 pounds
per square foot and the same Type S mortar is used. Painted surfaces
must be sandblasted or stripped of paint. It can also be installed
on 18-guage metal lath.
While working with thin stone is more similar to assembling a jigsaw
puzzle than the chipping and hammering of full-bed stone, thin stone
can still be cut on site to fit any shape.
The same look, cheaper to ship, easier to install and just as long
lasting—what's not to like about thin stone?
